Bluebirds

My neighbor called me over today to show me that her bluebirds were starting to come out of the box. Mom still came and fed them, but they were peeking out and one had already left.

The bird on the left is a great blue heron.

Black and yellow argiope spider

This harmless orb spider is also called the 'writing spider'. It picked a great spot where insects fly against the screen. Visitors with arachnaphobia have to enter the house through one of our other doors.

The trains used to run for tourists a few years back, but the rails are in such bad shape that they stopped the train.
