Fatu Hiva

Fatu Hiva's Hanaveve Valley is stunningly lush. However, there is something different about the people here, sadness or maybe desinterest in another wave of tourists. Due to the extraordinary beauty of the Bay of Virgins, sailing ships are a constant presence in this tiny community. The copra drying shack is empty, but the noni juice containers next to the house are proof of another source of income. The large leaves to the right are breadfruit, the tree near the house is mango.
