Is that charming long-necked critter in the first photo a Great Blue Heron?
Petra: I don't know yet. I am at the stage where I see big black birds, small black birds, big white birds, small white birds etc. :-)We have sandhill cranes, herons, egrets and an assortment of small birds. I have yet to find out who is who. Sandhill cranes are easy to identify. They always make a racket.
