The Hike

Look for the antenna on the highest peak. We drove a bus up to the valley behind the front hill, then we took the steep road visible below the homes on the mountain in an open back truck. The truck took us to the highest point of St. Martin. The fort seen from the parking lot where we left the bus.
The same fort from higher up.
Our knowledgable and personable guide. Obviously, the guides are all selected for their outgoing and polite personality.
In the stores, the employees are not always friendly, especially when you try or taste something without buying. This was true in St.Martin (we tasted guavaberry rum), St. Lucia (sales girls were chattering on their cell with customers in the store) and in Pointe a Pitre on Guadeloupe (We had her measure cloth and decided to not buy after all).
