At first sight, the harbor of St. John looks like it has acquired warts - recently added condos. Although the island is still very beautiful, negative first impressions remain powerful.

Luckily, one of the Rockefellers had the good sense to protect two thirds of the island by buying it. He built Caneel Bay, an upscale resort and made the rest into a national park. This is Caneel Bay.
